Our processing plant is situated in the regional town of Arua in the heart of the West Nile region.
The plant has the capacity to process honey at the rate of 1,450 jars per hour with an annual design
output of over 600 tonnes.
The West Nile region produces over 75% of Uganda’s total honey production of 864 tonnes.
Recent estimates put the output from the West Nile region alone at over 700 tonnes.

To ensure sanitary handling and chemical free certification throughout
the complete cycle of environment- to bee - to hive - to finished product,
Bee Natural™ Products works in partnership with the bee farmers.

From our HQ in Arua, we deploy centre managers and field harvest
officers for each of the five districts in the region – Arua, Nebbi, Yumbe,
Moyo and Adjumani.

Fully trained and professionally qualified officers they maintain continuous contact with lead
beekeepers, beekeeper groups and individual beekeepers. Intense training is provided to the lead
beekeepers to enable them to cascade the training to the more remote farmers who are unable to
reach the training centres. Our field harvesters maintain and inspect logs of activity at the hives and
assist beekeepers during harvest thus controlling quality and increasing yields.

The field harvest officers collect and store the products in high-quality food grade plastic containers
each with a re-sealable, airtight and leak proof lid for transportation to the processing plant where
quality control checks are carried out before entering the stores.
The honey is subjected to further laboratory and classification tests for viscosity, colour
and type before being processed and packaged.

700 beekeeper farmers are contractually engaged
and this is set to rise to a target population of 4000 beekeeper farmers.
Our activities have created many industry-associated jobs in the local
area, estimated in the hundreds, mainly in hive, smokers and protective
clothing manufacture.

This infrastructure is the forum through which we deliver our services.
